Fair Use Policy
Last updated: 15 October 2026.
This policy forms part of the Terms of Service of the Finance Calendar API, operated by Search Ventures Pty Ltd (ACN 639 906 353) as trustee for the Ahlgren Trust.
Why it exists
Every plan except Enterprise has a monthly request quota, which sets its limits plainly. Enterprise has no monthly quota, so this policy says what that means in practice. It also applies to every plan where it describes how the Service may be used.
Limits that always apply
Enterprise subscriptions have no monthly request quota, but are still limited to 3,000 requests a minute per API key and 50 calendars per request. Requests beyond these are refused with a clear error, not billed.
What fair use means
Fair use is traffic from your own products, systems and teams, and from work you do for your clients. It does not include:
- reselling the data, or bulk-copying it into a dataset or service offered to others
- spreading traffic across extra keys or accounts to get around a limit
- requests generated without regard to their need, such as repeatedly fetching the same unchanged answer in a tight loop
Cache what you can
Calendar data changes only when a new release is published, and every response names its release. The changes feed lists exactly what each release changed, so you can keep a local copy and refresh it only when something changes. Doing this makes your integration faster and keeps you well within fair use.
If your traffic is a problem
If your traffic threatens the Service for other customers, we will contact you before limiting it, explain what we see, and work with you on a fix. We will only restrict traffic without notice when it is needed to keep the Service running for everyone, and we will tell you straight away when we do.
Questions
If you are planning unusually heavy use, tell us first through the contact form, choosing “Enterprise and custom terms”.
