Use case: Trading and market data

Know before the open whether the market will be

Exchanges close for national holidays, close early before some of them, and now and then close at short notice. A job that assumes a normal session prices stale data, fires alerts into a closed market or rolls a position a day early.

How it works

Ask about a date and get each exchange’s status: open, closed with the holiday’s name, or closing early with the close time.

Run it at the start of a job, before a scheduled alert, or once a day to build your own calendar table. The .ics feed puts the same dates in a team calendar, so people see them too.

Questions

Are early-close times included?

Yes. An early close comes with its time, as the end of normal trading in the exchange's local time zone, taken from the exchange's own notice for verified years.

Can I put the dates in a team calendar?

Every calendar has an .ics feed for Google Calendar, Outlook or Apple Calendar, updated with each release.

Which exchanges are covered?

The calendars page lists every exchange, with the years verified against its own notices and the sources cited.
